Lynn Ames, PMHNP-BC
My name is Lynn Ames. I’ve worked in healthcare for my whole adult life, starting at age 17. I’ve held positions as a Certified Nurses Aid, Medical Assistant, Scrub Tech in surgery, Obstetrical RN, Mother/Baby RN, Circulating RN in surgery, Medical/Surgical RN and now Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I completed my undergraduate degrees, Associates and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Nursing at Colorado Mountain College in 2012 and 2016. I completed my graduate degree, Master of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University, KY in 2022. I enjoyed a rich educational experience in training at Mind Springs Health Aspen and West Springs Hospital Grand Junction which included training in the outpatient, inpatient and psychiatric emergency settings.
I chose Frontier Nursing University because of its history of the founder, Mary Breckenridge, who had a heart for people in rural, underserved areas. I too have a heart for rural, underserved communities and believe ALL people have a right to care. That's why I am here, to help you on your journey to mental wellness. I am excited to help address your mental health needs, knowing that medication is often needed. I also believe in complementary and alternative treatment to traditional medications and am excited to share this with you.
